108. William Compton, assigned servant to John Bingle charged with mutinous conduct on board the colonial cutter Eclipse. Mr Alexander Livingstone, master of the Eclipse stated....The prisoner is assigned servant on the voyage of the Eclipse the preceding one from the present one from Sydney to Newcastle was disorderly so much I was under the necessity of putting him in cuffs. During the last voyage from Sydney on my ordering him to haul in the jib sheet to the windward, he replied Damn you and the jib and the main sheet too. The conduct of the prisoner has been disorderly and mutinous for some time past. Sentenced to 50 lashes and 3 months hard labour in the mines
